Vying for the title of Australia’s most tattooed athlete, Dane Swan has added another interesting piece of artwork to the almost entirely covered canvas that is his body- a detailed replica of Sam Newman’s head to his rear end.
Swan may not have factored into this year’s Brownlow Medal count, but that didn’t stop the star Collingwood midfielder from celebrating the prestigious Grand Final week award ceremony in style.
The 2011 Brownlow winner hit up East Brunswick Tattoos to make good on a The Footy Show bet where he promised to have Newman’s likeness inked on his skin should the Magpies miss the 2014 finals.
“Nothing better to do tonight so might as well make good on my bet with Sam,” Swan posted from the table.
“Good to know that every time I sit down now on Sammy’s face.”
An image posted on The Footy Show’s Instagram account showed the television personality also in attendance and a film crew recording the event.
Swan became Collingwood’s highest ever polling player in Brownlow history when he passed Nathan Buckley’s 164 career votes on Monday night.
