Foo Fighters are set to make a long-awaited return to Australia for a huge run of stadium shows in February and March next year.
The tour will be supported by Chicago punk rock outfit Rise Against, following the release of their 2014 album The Black Market, after a three-year wait between LPs. Melbourne’s The Delta Riggs will also feature at all of the Aussie shows excluding Hobart.
This tour will see the Foo Fighters make their first appearance Down Under since 2011 and include huge stops at stadium venues in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth, as well as the band’s first visit to Hobart in over a decade.
The news follows a nervy couple of weeks wait for Dave Grohl fans. Radio station Triple M teased the announcement earlier in the week promising some “massive news”, which followed Frontier Touring’s mysterious and clue-infused launch of the SomethingNothingOZNZ website.
Presented by Frontier, the Foo Fighters are heading back on the road in support of their eighth studio album, Sonic Highways, set for release on November 10. Also spawning an eight-episode HBO docuseries, Sonic Highways is the band’s first full-length release since 2011’s Wasting Light and has already produced lead single “Something From Nothing” and last week’s debut of “The Feast And The Famine”.
Frontier members will have access to pre-sale tickets from 10am Tuesday, November 11 ahead of Thursday, November 13’s public release date.
