Nintendo Shows Off The Legend of Zelda Wii U at The Game Awards 2014

The Legend of Zelda Wii U was shown for its first time since E3 today, and it was magical.

In this new demonstration Miyamoto chose to emphasize how much work has been put into the presentation. The world is vast and diverse, with deserts, forests, and much more. It’s also very large. Here’s a look at a portion of the map:

New combat features include the ability to fire arrows from the horse, in addition to being able to fire arrows after jumping into the air, which actually slows down time. There are also many new interactions with the world, including being able to drop waypoints anywhere you can see with the telescope, as well as being able to pick apples from trees to eat.
