A hilariously awful statue of Cristiano Ronaldo has been erected in the Real Madrid star’s hometown of Funchal, on the island of Madeira, and it’s safe to say that it looks nothing like him. On top of looking like it was created by someone who had never actually seen a photograph of the footballer, but who had instead based the appearance of the statue based upon a verbal explanation of his looks, it also rather prominently focuses upon his bulge.

Yes, this statue has been erected in more ways than one.

The statue of the Portuguese star can be found outside his own museum in his hometown, though we highly doubt it’ll help boost tourism in the region… unless folks really want to see a giant recreation of the semi-erection of a Ballon d’Or winner.
