Kanye West is working on a mobile game in which you guide his deceased mother to the gates of Heaven, and yes, this is almost certainly the weirdest video game news you’ll read this week.
The musician and producer is following in the footsteps of his wife Kim Kardashian, who has a hugely successful mobile game of her own in the form of Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, by releasing an iOS/Android title that will see you tasked with ensuring that Donda West passes through the pearly gates.

Kanye made the announcement during an interview with radio station Power 105.1, revealing that the game is already in development.
“Right now I’m working on a video game for ‘Only One,'” West said, referring to his latest single with Paul McCartney. “The idea is it’s my mother going through the Gates of Heaven and you got to bring her to the highest Gates of Heaven by holding her to the light. We’ve been working on it for like 6 months.”
We’re not sure whether that concept is one which will generate as much revenue as Kim Kardashian’s game, which has proved to be incredibly lucrative, but it’s certainly in keeping with Kanye’s rather eccentric personality.
There’s no word on when the game will be released yet, but we’d wager that given the game has already been in development for 6 months, you won’t have to wait long to get your chance to play as Kanye West’s dead mom.
