Holychild Brings “Brat Pop” to TuneCore Live

Holychild stopped by to have a chat with us before their stellar performance at TuneCore Live in Hollywood, California, revealing how they’re looking to establish a new genre, “Brat Pop,” and the problems they’ve faced with their “provocative” new album cover, which features a nude image of frontman Liz Nistico.

During the interview, Nistico reveals her frustrations with how the female body is often viewed as pornographic. “I definitely like using… my body to say something,” Nistico said. “I feel like the female body is exalted in our culture and has such weight behind it… I’m not necessarily scared of nudity, but I don’t want to do it for the sake of being provocative.”

Hugethanks to Swisher Sweets, TuneCore and Mirrored Media for putting on such a great event.
