Evolve is getting two brand new maps, with players able to download them for free.

The pair of maps, titled Broken Hill Mine and Broken Hill Foundry, look much different from any of the other locations featured in the game thus far, with the forest and jungle settings of the original maps being replaced with industrial equipment and broken-down bars.

While Evolve is a unique and fun twist on the FPS genre, it was decidedly lacking in content upon release with the general consensus being that developer Turtle Rock Studios was attempting to use it as a platform for future DLC, albeit a platform which released with a full retail price tag. These free new maps will hopefully go some way to spicing up the gameplay while the DLC paid for by Season Pass holders is being worked on.
2K and Turtle Rock will be releasing the new maps on March 31st for Xbox One owners, though PS4 and PC gamers will be forced to wait another month until April 31st.
