Ilan Rubin has proven far more than a drummer for a number of high-profile projects, most prominently the incredible Nine Inch Nails. His own operation, The New Regime, has just released their latest album Exhibit B, a sequel of sorts to 2013’s Exhibit A (iTunes) and a marked departure from his multi-instrumental work with NIN, Angels & Airwaves and Paramore.
Along the trajectory of his creative spark, we brought the man Trent Reznor calls “irritatingly talented” into the fold as our featured Artist of The Month for April, with an exclusive three-song performance and interview. We began with a stripped rendition of “We Rise, We Fall” and the soulful “Mannequin,” and followed up with a third performance featuring “Where I’ve Headed All Along”.
Check out our exclusive interview with Ilan below, wherein he shares his thoughts on the evolving nature of albums and EPs, his overall plan with the Exhibit releases and much more.
Pick up Exhibit B on iTunes, and keep up with Ilan at The New Regime’s official site, as well as on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
