Watch: Dave Grohl and Paul McCartney United for ‘I Saw Her Standing There’ Performance

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl joined Paul McCartney onstage during the legendary musician’s show at London’s O2 Arena on Saturday, performing a rendition of The Beatles’ classic ‘I Saw Her Standing There.’

The two iconic artists performed the Please Please Me track in front of the London crowd in the first of two shows McCartney is scheduled to play in the arena, with Grohl joining him on guitar and vocals. While it’s admittedly a little disconcerting to witness a 72-year-old and heavily bearded 46-year-old sing an ode to a 17-year-old girl, we’ll let it slide just this once.

Paul McCartney has been in the news quite frequently as of late, mainly due to his gushing over Kanye West in which he stated he was “lucky” to be working with the rapper/producer, along with unearthed footage of a 1999 talk show appearance that seemingly showed him playing the melody to Kanye’s ‘All Day,’ a track which he produced.

Say what you will about McCartney, but he’s certainly a man who knows how to stay relevant.
