Dave Grohl has offered his opinion on Florence And The Machine’s Glastonbury 2015 headline set, a slot which Foo Fighters had to pass over to the UK band due to Grohl having suffered a broken leg.
Florence covered the Foo Fighters track ‘Times Like These’ during her band’s performance, playing it in tribute to Grohl, saying to the huge crowd assembled in front of the event’s iconic Pyramid Stage: “He [Grohl] was so incredibly kind and supportive to us when we were first starting out, and we were so sad to hear that he broke his leg because we love him so much. Dave, if you are listening, we love you, we all love you.”

In an interview with Q magazine, Grohl stated that he had watched their performance of the track, saying: “The day after the gig, someone sent me a link to the performance and I cried like a fucking baby. It melted my fucking heart. I am forever indebted to them. It meant so much, you have no idea.”

Grohl also stated that he was very happy that Florence was booked as the Foo Fighters’ replacement, adding: “When we cancelled and they were searching for a replacement I prayed they’d just move them to the top of the bill because they fucking deserve to be there. I was so excited when they announced they would, I emailed Florence to congratulate her.”
There are already murmurs that the festival’s organiser Michael Eavis has booked the Foo Fighters to headline Glastonbury 2016, despite this year’s festival having only just wrapped up. While it seems likely that the Foo Fighters would be asked to perform at the festival after having to cancel this year, there have been no confirmed reports of this being the case either from the Foo Fighters camp or from Glastonbury.
