In 2011, AMC debuted Hell on Wheels, a unique post-Civil War western that chronicles the construction of the first Transcontinental Railroad across the United States. Anson Mount was chosen to portray the leading man, Cullen Bohannon, a former Confederate soldier out to avenge the murders of his wife and child.
Bohannon’s mission of revenge brought him to the Union Pacific Railroad, and over the course of four seasons he laid down the burden of his vengeance and he became a true railroad man as he rose through the ranks of the company. Even jumping to the rival Central Pacific Railroad hasn’t deterred Bohannon’s pursuit of finishing the cross country railroad.
Hell on Wheels is currently in its fifth and final season on AMC, with the final seven episodes being held for next summer. But fans can catch up on Hell on Wheels this week with the release of Hell on Wheels Season 4 on Blu-ray and DVD this Tuesday, August 11. The season 4 set includes all 13 episodes plus an assortment of bonus features.
CraveOnline is proud to present an exclusive clip from one of the Hell on Wheels Season 4 Blu-ray featurettes as Anson Mount and executive producer Mark Richard look back at Bohannon’s journey from the very beginning of the series.
New episodes of Hell on Wheels are currently being shown on Saturday nights on AMC.
