Bratpop duo Holychild delivered a buoyant set of indie dance fever gems at this year’s Lollapalooza, with college classmates Louie Diller and Liz Nistico riding a high tide of attention after their bright, bubbly sound served as the backdrop to the first Apple Watch commercial this past Spring.
We caught up with Holychild in Chicago (at the Samsung Lounge) to discuss their new record The Shape of Brat Pop to Come (pick it up!), the delicate nature of artistic expression, and the double-edged sword of being featured in an Apple Watch commercial. They’ve come a long way since our first encounter in March, where the band played a Crave-sponsored TuneCore event in Los Angeles. They also come up with one of the most clever – and creepiest – Halloween costumes imaginable. Check it out!
