Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 is Coming to PS4 and PS Vita

There’s some good news for fans of unreasonably voluptuous fictional women playing volleyball today, as Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball is receiving a comeback on the PS4 and, surprisingly, the PS Vita.

Koei Tecmo is bringing the franchise back from the dead with Dead or Alive Xtreme 3, with the last entry in the series having been released on the Xbox 360 way back in 2006. Though incredibly tacky at face value thanks to its gratuitous focus upon computer-generated semi-nudity, Dead or Alive Xtreme actually managed to cultivate a dedicated fan base, and though its sequel was somewhat disappointing, the first Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball game on the original Xbox was admittedly a lot of fun.

An added bonus of Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 being released in the year 2015 is that we can now use Amazon in order to buy it, meaning that we won’t have to awkwardly purchase it from our local GameStop and have the cashier wonder whether or not we’re buying it for its fun gameplay, or because we’ve run out of things to masturbate to and so a video game about computer-generated mixed martial artists playing beach sports will have to do.

The announcement was made on the Japanese gaming publication Famitsu, with it then being posted to NeoGAF. According to the post the PS4 version of the game is called Fortune, while the Vita version is called Venus, presumably because no one will get to experience it during our lifetime. There’s no word on an Xbox One release of the game, so it seems likely that this is a Sony-exclusive.

Hopefully this time around the game focuses upon the volleyball rather than the odd relationship-building side-missions of the second game, so we can play without feeling too much like perverts this time around. We’ll find out more about the game when the latest issue of Famitsu is released on Thursday.
