Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg Sell Future Man Comedy To Hulu

Earlier this year, Seth Rogen and his production partner, Evan Goldberg placed the Preacher comic book adaptation at AMC. But Rogen and Goldberg’s next television project may not be on TV at all.

According to The Wrap, Rogen and Goldberg’s Future Man has secured a pilot commitment from Hulu. Future Man is a half-hour comedy series created by Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir that puts the spotlight on “a world-ranked gamer who is told by time travelers from the future that he is the key to defeating the imminent super-race invasion.”

Rogen and Goldberg are slated to direct the Future Man pilot from the script by Hunter and Shaffir. Prior to Future Man, Hunter and Schaffir wrote two movies for Rogen and Goldberg: The Interview and This Is The End.

James Weaver and Matt Tolmach will also serve as executive producers of Future Man alongside Rogen, Goldberg, Hunter, and Shaffir. Future Man is also being produced by Sony Pictures Television, Seth Rogen’s Point Grey Pictures and Matt Tolmach Productions.

At the recent Television Critics Association Press Tour, Hulu revealed that it will no longer be releasing all of its episodes at once like Netflix. Instead, Hulu is embracing the weekly model favored by broadcast and cable channels that means only one episode will premiere per week.

Upcoming Hulu projects include the drama, The Way starring former Breaking Bad actor Aaron Paul, and an adaptation of Stephen King’s 11/23/63, as well as a new season of The Mindy Project and the third season of Deadbeat.
