Le Butcherettes are now streaming their new album, A Raw Youth, via Noisey ahead of its Sept. 18 release on Ipecac. Fans can listen to the massively promising collection below.
In the accompanying interview on Noisey, singer Teri Gender Bender discusses the premise behind the album which she describes as “an ode to rebels throughout history who fought for what they believed in, despite being murdered or having their families castrated or imprisoned.” She also talks about working with Iggy Pop on the song “La Uva” and her move to El Paso, as well as her unique insights and experiences growing up in Guadalajara.
A Raw Youth pre-orders are available via iTunes, Amazon and GooglePlay. Check it out in full before you can buy it below:
Le Butcherettes have released two albums, their 2011 debut Sin, Sin, Sin and the 2014 offering Cry Is For The Flies. In addition to the wildly eccentric, volatile power of Gender Bender, the band is rounded out by drummer Chris Common and bass player Jamie Aaron Aux, as well as guitarist/producer Omar Rodriguez Lopez. Lopez once again produced the record, as he has done for both previous Le Butcherettes’ releases.
