When Twin Peaks returns next year after a 25 year hiatus, there will be at least two new faces in the town.
According to TVLine, Amanda Seyfried (pictured above) and Balthazar Getty have joined the cast of the Twin Peaks revival by co-creators Mark Frost and David Lynch. But in true Twin Peaks fashion, details about their characters are being withheld at this time.
Getty has previously worked with Lynch on the film Lost Highway and starred on the ABC series Brothers & Sisters in addition to his recent appearance in The Judge. Seyfried co-starred on HBO’s Big Love and Ted 2, in addition to her upcoming roles in Pan and Fathers and Daughters.
Frost and Lynch’s Twin Peaks revival is currently in production. And while nine episodes were initially announced, some reports indicate that the Twin Peaks miniseries may have as many as eighteen episodes.

The original Twin Peaks debuted in 1990, and it quickly became one of the biggest cult television shows of its era. However, the series flamed out quickly and was canceled after only two seasons on ABC. Twin Peaks ended without a definitive conclusion, which is part of the reason that the show’s followers have clamoured for a follow up.
Original series stars Kyle MacLachlan, Sheryl Lee, Richard Beymer, Dana Ashbrook, and Catherine E. Coulson have all been confirmed for the Twin Peaks revival. Sherilyn Fenn is also likely to return, but that has yet to be publicly announced.
Twin Peaks will make its debut on Showtime in 2016.
