FXX Announces The Simpsons ‘Treehouse of Horror’ Marathon For Halloween

Beginning with the second season of The Simpsons in 1990, the creative team unleashed an annual Halloween special called “Treehouse of Horror” that allowed the writers to cut loose while parodying everything from ‘50s era horror comics to modern movies and television series. It’s a Simpsons tradition that has endured for over a quarter century.

This October, FXX is paying homage to the classic Simpsons with a 12-hour marathon of the first 25 “Treehouse of Horror” episodes of The Simpsons that will run for a week beginning Monday, October 26 and ending on Saturday, October 31. Each day of the marathon will kickoff at 12pm and end at midnight.

Several of the greatest Simpsons episodes are among the “Treehouse of Horror,” including the very first special and my personal favorite, “Treehouse of Horror V,” which featured Homer and his time-traveling toaster, a parody of The Shining, and a final segment with Bart and Lisa menaced by their cannibalistic school teachers.

The 26th Annual “Treehouse of Horror” will debut on Sunday, October 25 on Fox with a segment that brings back Kelsey Grammer as Sideshow Bob, who will achieve his revenge against Bart Simpson for many foiled evil plans.
