New Spy Drama Partners In Crime Debuts On Bravo October 26th

This month, Cold War-era espionage squares off with sharp English wit in the BBC adventure series Partners in Crime, debuting Monday, October 26th – it’s based on Agatha Christie’s classic characters Tommy (David Walliams) and Tuppence Beresford (Jessica Raine). Then, next month, hits like Kingdom and Legends returns while Agent X debuts.

The six-part, 75-minute miniseries follows a suburban married couple who solve mysteries and foil plots in 1950s Britain. In a country facing up to the looming threat of the Cold War, the adventure-seeking pair stumble into a world of undercover agents, mysterious evil masterminds, and diabolical political conspiracy.

Partners in Crime is an adaptation of two detective novels by Agatha Christie. The first three episodes are an adaptation The Secret Adversary, where the heroes search simultaneously for a missing girl and a recording that could identify a Soviet hitman living within our midst. The last three episodes are based on the novel N or M?, where Tommy and Tuppence must identify which person in a guesthouse in Cromer, England has stolen a nuclear bomb, before it’s too late. Viewers can catch up with the accidental spies on Bravo.ca following each episode premiere.

In Partners in Crime, Thomas “Tommy” Beresford (Walliams) is a clever and logical man whose business ventures never quite work out. Though he tries to look after his spirited wife and their son George (Miles Roughley, Les Misérables) with various money-making schemes, he doesn’t realize that he has no head for business. He does, however, have a knack for espionage and crime-solving in a world full of double agents and assassins. His wife, Prudence “Tuppence” Beresford (Raine), is a quick-witted, irrepressible woman with a tendency to leap without looking. The daughter of a country archdeacon and one of five children, she misses the sense of purpose she had as a nurse in the war and cannot settle as a housewife, despite her love for Tommy and George. When the opportunity is presented to aid British Intelligence in the defence of her country, she jumps at the chance to put herself, and her less willing husband, in harm’s way.

Partners in Crime premieres on October 26th at 10pm.

Meanwhile, next month Bravo ventures into the tribulations of both the body and mind with the premiere of the spy thriller Agent X, and the second seasons of Legends and Kingdom. The action begins Tuesday, November 10th at 9pm with two back-to-back episodes of Agent X, starring Sharon Stone as U.S. Vice-President Natalie Maccabee, who in times of crisis is tasked with deploying Agent X John Case (Jeff Hephner, Chicago Fire), to handle high-stakes missions that are too sensitive for even the FBI and the CIA. The 10-episode, one hour series also stars James Earl Jones (Star Wars) as Chief Justice Caleb Thorne.

The following night sees the return of Sean Bean (Game of Thrones, Lord Of The Rings) as covert operative Martin Odum in the Season 2 premiere of Legends on Wednesday, November 11th at 9pm. Season 2 of the hour-long, 10-episode drama finds Odum’s world turned upside down when he discovers that everything he thought he knew about his life has been a lie.

In the Season 2 premiere of Kingdom on Wednesday, November 11th at 10pm, the fighters at Navy St. MMA gym continue to battle obstacles both in and out of the ring as Ryan “The Destroyer” Wheeler (Matt Lauria, Friday Night Lights) defends his title, and Jay (Jonathan Tucker, Parenthood) finds a new obsession. The 10-episode, one-hour drama also stars Frank Grillo (Warrior) and pop singer Nick Jonas.
