Saturday Night Live Puts Kylo Ren on Undercover Boss: Starkiller Base

As Star Wars: The Force Awakens barrels towards $860 million domestically this weekend, Adam Driver was the guest host of this week’s Saturday Night Live. Naturally, Driver reprised his role as the new Star Wars villain, Kylo Ren.

Judging from his depiction in The Force Awakens, Kylo Ren has very little emotional maturity and an even more tenuous grasp on social interaction. This guy can’t even make the dark side of the Force sound compelling when his life depends on it! So in a rare masterstroke from SNL, Kylo Ren was placed in a spoof of the hit CBS reality series, Undercover Boss.

If you’ve seen one episode of Undercover Boss, you’ve pretty much seen them all. Usually, some relatively good-hearted rich person assumes the role of a lowly employee in their own company and proves to be a pretty piss poor worker. Along the way, they befriend a hard worker who is going through a tough time in life, whom they inevitably promote or reward after they reveal themselves as the boss.

Sounds uplifting, right? Not so much, when Kylo Ren is involved. He chooses to go undercover as a technician named “Matt” with a blond wig and glasses. But everyone Kylo encounters knows that it’s him…especially when he shows off that Kylo Ren temper and claims to have randomly encountered himself in the bathroom on Starkiller Base. You’d think he’d have a private bathroom, but whatever. Here’s the video!

Driver will be back on HBO’s Girls for its fifth season next month.
