HBO Tweets Out New Game of Thrones Season 6 Teasers

Winter has come to Westeros, and neither king nor crow can stop its march.

HBO’s Game of Thrones is set to return on Sunday, April 24. And while HBO hasn’t released a full trailer for the season yet, it has begun teasing fans about what to expect. On HBO’s official Game of Thrones twitter account, three new tweets have been released that cast doubt on the future of three of the show’s most powerful factions.

First up, the Lannisters in King’s Landing. They may control the Iron Throne, but the voice of the High Sparrow says that he and his followers can bring down an empire.

Next up are the Starks of Winterfell. There aren’t many of them left, and the North is under the heel of the Boltons. That’s Ramsay Bolton’s voice in the teaser.

And finally, we catch up to Daenerys Targaryen, the mother of dragons, who was last seen surrounded by a Dothraki horde that is most definitely not loyal to her. In fact, one of the Dothraki calls her the “queen of nothing” in the last teaser.

Game of Thrones season 6 will be the first time that the television series goes far beyond George R.R. Martin’s previously published novels from his A Song of Ice and Fire series. Where things go from here is anyone’s guess, and all bets are off.
