Walls will not hold back the winter, but HBO’s Vinyl is ensuring that Game of Thrones is getting a late premiere this year. Fans will have to wait until Sunday, April 24 to revisit the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. But there are still power plays to be made, a Mother of Dragons to be freed, and a certain bastard who will undoubtedly show up again.
Ahead of the sixth season, HBO has unleashed 24 new photos from Game of Thrones, which are a little spoilery if you’re not up to date. But if you’re really surprised that Theon and Sansa survived their leap from the walls of Winterfell then perhaps you’re watching the wrong show.

While Jon Snow is nowhere to be seen in these photos, several of his siblings are here. For example, we see how far Arya has fallen now that she’s been blinded, while Bran Stark’s education at the feet of the Three-eyed Raven continues. In King’s Landing, the Lannisters are in mourning, and the High Sparrow’s power is only increasing. Cersei really outdid herself when she armed these lunatic religious warriors who have become her greatest enemies.

The photos also check in with Daenerys and Tyrion in Essos, as she struggles to get free and he attempts to maintain control over a city that he barely knows.

Tyrion
Aside from Daenerys herself, Tyrion may be the best suited to rule the seven kingdoms of Westeros. But he may have to settle for being the new power behind the throne...provided that Daenerys finally gets around to reconquering her homeland.
