Daniel Craig Hasn’t Quit James Bond Despite Rumours

Rumours have today circulated that Daniel Craig has retired from the role of James Bond, though the actor’s representatives have confirmed that no decision has been reached regarding his future with the franchise.

Craig made headlines after he claimed that he’d rather “slash [his] wrists” than reprise Bond during the press tour for Spectre, with The Sun today reporting that he had quit the film series due to commitments with the upcoming US TV series Purity. However, a spokesperson for Craig confirmed via The Independent that no such decision has been made, and that the actor could return to the role once filming on Purity has been concluded.

Though Craig appeared a little jaded during the press tour for Spectre, it seems that there has been no official decision made in regards to whether or not he will take up the role of 007 once again in the future. This is despite bookmakers having recently cut the odds on James Norton, the British actor famous for appearances in War and Peace and Happy Valley, to be named as Craig’s successor.

But although Spectre‘s poor critical reception will have likely disappointed Craig considering the overwhelming amount of praise heaped upon its predecessor Skyfall, the actor has allegedly not made a decision regarding whether he’ll return to the series, despite reports to the contrary.
