During the first season of Daredevil, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) scored a decisive victory over Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) for the fate of Hell’s Kitchen. But that victory may be short-lived when the Punisher (Jon Bernthal) and Elektra (Elodie Yung) come to town!
Netflix has released two new teaser videos for Daredevil season 2 that throw the spotlight on the Punisher and Elektra. In the first teaser, the Punisher (a.k.a. Frank Castle) emerges from the shadows from with a shocking trophy: Daredevil’s mask!

If Castle discovers Matt’s double life as Daredevil, then things are really bad for Marvel’s Man Without Fear. Elektra already knows who Matt is, and she may even be in on his secret as well. But we’d be willing to bet that Matt will be shocked to discover just how much his college sweetheart has changed. Elektra is an assassin, and she’s far deadlier than anyone else Daredevil has ever faced.
So far, there’s no word on whether D’Onofrio will reprise his role as Fisk this season, but it’s entirely possible given the way that Elektra worked for Fisk in the Daredevil comic book series. And if Elektra is here, can Bullseye be far behind? The rumors about Jason Statham playing Bullseye didn’t pan out, but there’s no question that Bullseye will eventually appear in Daredevil. If not this season, then probably next season…should it be renewed again.
While Marvel TV’s Jeph Loeb recently denied the rumors of a Punisher series on Netflix, that seems pretty likely to happen if audiences like Bernthal’s take on the character. And perhaps even Elektra could eventually headline a Netflix series of her own.
Daredevil season 2 hits Netflix on Friday, March 18.
