AMC’s Turn:Washington’s Spies is loosely based upon the real story of the Culper Ring, a group of spies who eventually helped the colonists turn the tide against the British during the Revolutionary war. During the second season of Turn, the series introduced Owain Yeoman as America’s most infamous traitor: General Benedict Arnold.
But rather than portray Benedict Arnold as a one-dimensional caricature, Turn: Washington’s Spies has built a complex portrait of a man who felt slighted and severely undervalued by his comrades in the revolution. Perhaps if events had unfolded differently, Arnold would have been considered one of this nation’s greatest heroes.
Ahead of Anchor Bay’s upcoming release of Turn:Washington’s Spies Season 2 on DVD, CraveOnline has an exclusive deleted scene that features Arnold early in the courtship of Peggy Shippen (Ksenia Solo), a relationship that had major implications for both of them.
Anchor Bay also provided CraveOnline with a second video that explains the role that Shippen played in turning Arnold against his country and back to the British.
Turn: Washington’s Spies — The Complete Second Season hits DVD on March 22. The third season of Turn: Washington’s Spies will premiere on April 25 at 10pm (9pm Central) on AMC.
