We love Mike Mignola’s Hellboy here at CraveOnline, but perhaps not as much as Adam Savage does! The former co-host of Mythbusters has apparently had some free time since the end of his iconic series. And Savage used that time to fashion himself a Hellboy costume to wear at the very first Silicon Valley Comic Con!
Believe it or not, this isn’t Savage’s first cosplay or even his first cosplay as Hellboy. Savage wore a Hellboy costume to Comic-Con International 2008 that was inspired by the two Guillermo del Toro Hellboy films. This time, Savage was taking his cues from Mignola’s comic book incarnation. Savage even hid his face with mask that mimics Hellboy’s distinctive angles!
In a new video on his Tested YouTube Channel, Savage showed off his new Hellboy costume and shared footage from the con.

Just in case you were wondering how Savage was identified so quickly, it was because he posted a video about his creation of the sword that he used in his Hellboy cosplay. As Savage himself noted, he probably shouldn’t have posted that online before he made his public debut with the costume. Still, it’s a pretty awesome costume!
For those of you unfamiliar with Hellboy, he’s the world’s greatest paranormal investigator! Or rather, he was before he died. You see, Hellboy may look like a demon (and he is half-demon), but he was raised by humans and he’s always been a stand up guy.
