Have you ever wanted to see an animated adaptation of Nintendo’s anthropomorphic space fighter, Star Fox? While there’s no Star Fox animated feature or weekly cartoon on the horizon, Nintendo has the next best thing.
As part of the promotion for Star Fox Zero, Nintendo partnered with Production I.G. and Wit Studio to create a nearly 15-minute long animated prequel to the game.
Star Fox Zero: The Battle Begins reintroduces Fox McCloud and his team of space fighter pilots with some impressively animated aerial combat and characters. It’s got a very classic anime style, which shouldn’t be too surprising. Production I.G. has previously worked on Ghost in the Shell, while Wit Studio has Attack on Titan to its credits.
Even if Star Fox Zero doesn’t live up to the previous games in the series, at least we got this really cool short out of it!
