Stevie Wonder has been among the more vocal icons in discussing the impact of Prince’s music and passing. The legendary singer has urged fans to avoid letting themselves be swayed into sensationalizing the circumstances surrounding his death, and that they should pay tribute by making love to his “gift of music”.
Prince passed away unexpectedly at his Paisley Park home in Minnesota last month (April 21), and although a cause of death is still unannounced, police have confirmed that they are looking into the possibility that Prince died from an overdose of prescription drugs.

TMZ tracked down Wonder at LAX, where he elaborated on Prince’s gift and why fans shouldn’t jump to conclusions about his death. He said, “The sad part is that we lost these various people, whether it be Amy Winehouse, whether it be Michael Jackson, whether it be Whitney Houston. Maybe Prince had a lot of pain that we don’t know about.”
Wonder outlined the greatest gift Prince left the world, saying “Many of us are able to make love to their gifts of music, to make friendships and to remember things that were beautiful.” He was then asked if he had ever had sex to Prince’s songs, to which he replied, laughing: “You think I didn’t?”
