There’s a Preacher coming to AMC this Sunday, but he’s not like any preacher that you’ve ever seen! And if you’re expecting a show about a pious man of God, then you’ve come to the wrong place!
Preacher is the long-awaited adaptation of Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s classic Vertigo comic book series, which ranks among the most violent and shocking comics of all time. Think of it as The Walking Dead before there was even a Walking Dead, and it took nearly 16 years to make it to live-action!
AMC has dropped the first four and a half minutes of Preacher, and it starts with an unexpectedly cheesy view of outer space before dropping us in Africa as another preacher receives the ultimate gift…and pays the price! Then we get to meet Dominic Cooper’s Jesse Custer, the title character of this show.

Preacher follows Jesse as he comes to grips with his newfound power over men and women. Alongside his dangerous ex-girlfriend, Tulip (Ruth Negga), and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun), Jesse and his friends are literally going to searching for God. And they will find plenty of trouble along the way.
The series also stars Lucy Griffiths as Emily, W. Earl Brown as Sheriff Root, Anatol Yusef as DeBlanc, Tom Brooke as Fiore, Derek Wilson as Donnie Schenck, and Ian Colletti as Arseface.
AMC will broadcast the series premiere of Preacher this Sunday, May 22 at 10pm, after the mid-season finale of Fear The Walking Dead.
