Determining the best sports video games of all-time is a tough endeavor.
Do you put more weight towards the most realistic games made during the most recent generation? OR do you weigh more heavily towards nostalgia, what we played during our childhood.
Do sports games age faster than the newest iPhone or do they age like a fine wine?
We decided to take a poll. A very non-scientific poll. In other words, we asked all of our friends on Facebook.
Based on everyone’s responses, here’s our top 10. Enjoy.

Best Sports Video Games
10 Wii Sports
Nintendo Wii - 2006
The game that came with the Wii console became the second-best selling video game of all-time (only behind Tetris). It also made us overly-confident in our tennis and bowling skills.
09 Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2
Playstation, Dreamcast, Nintendo 64, Xbox - 2000-2001
One of the highest rated and highest scored video games of all-time, THPS2 taught all of us how to 'ollie' and pretend like we could all hold our own in SoCal.
08 NHL '94
SNES, Genesis - 1993-94
The first "realistic" hockey game is still so popular that it was added as an extra to NHL 14.
07 RBI Baseball
NES - 1986
You only love this game if you were a kid in the 80s. But nostalgia is important! As you're about to find out....
06 Madden (any of them)
Whether you're a fan of the more nostalgic Madden '94 (my mother bought mine off QVC for Christmas), or the newer, more realistic versions, the Madden franchise is easily the most successful in sports gaming history. In other words, they're all good!
05 Mike Tyson's Punch Out!!
NES - 1987
SO hard. Yet SO awesome. A novelty game that defines our 80s nostalgia.
04 NFL Blitz
Arcade, Nintendo 64 - 1997
An incredible, over-the-top freak-show of a game inspired by NBA Jam. Considering the current state of the NFL, the post-PED era and the known effects of head trauma, it's shocking and laughable this game was ever made. And we're all glad it was. Because it was fun as hell.
03 Ken Griffey Jr. Presents Major League Baseball
SNES - 1994
With larger than life sizes and aliases for real players, the gameplay is simply ridiculous. But if you were a kid growing up in the 90s there wasn't a more fun baseball game.
02 Tecmo Bowl
NES - 1989
National tournaments for the video game are still held to this day. However, don't even think about being the Oakland Raiders. Bo Jackson is famously unstoppable.
01 NBA Jam
Arcade, SNES - 1993-1994
"He's heating up", "He's on fire", and "Boomshakalaka!" -- all NBA Jam catch-phrases forever engrained into our basketball-loving personas.
