6-Foot-2 Basketball Player Pat Dickert Dunks From The Free-Throw Line

Julius Erving. Michael Jordan … Pat Dickert … ?

The 6-foot-2 guard is making waves across the internet for posting a video of himself legitimately dunking from the free-throw line. And I’m not gonna lie, I almost didn’t post the video because I too thought it could be fake.

But after much thought and further observation. I think it’s real.

Dickert doesn’t even start for Colby College, a small liberal arts college in Maine, but he may be the most impressive dunker right now in college basketball based on his size alone.

Check out the video and judge for yourself.

The Hatfield, Massachusetts native posted the video as part of his “Take Flight Tuesday” series and said the dunk was performed last week at Deerfield Academy in Deerfield, Massachusetts.

According to Central Maine, Dickert’s head coach, Damien Strahorn, believes Dickert’s authenticity:

“The fact that he is able to physically take off take off from 15 feet away and stay in the air long enough to dunk it, it’s a very impressive feat. It’s pretty crazy,” said Strahorn, noting that Dickert is “no taller” than the 6-foot-2 he’s listed at.

And here’s another video from a year ago nearly just as impressive:

I mean, seriously, if Dickert’s video is real, it’s mind-boggling insane.

Dr. J was 6-foot-7 and took off a step in front of the free throw line:

MJ was 6-foot-6, and, again, took off a full step in front of the free throw line:

Brent Barry also pulled it off, but again, he was 6-foot-7!

Trickery or legit, Pat, this video is incredible.
