So remember when we told you folks about the secret room on flights that flight attendants have? Well there’s another secret that’s been revealed, but this one is gross. For anyone whose been on a plane before, you will notice that sometimes you feel bloated while up in the air, and that’s because of the pressure. Now just imagine what flight attendants go through since they are flying most of the time. Well, that gas has to go somewhere, and apparently it’s being released into the cabin.

Ross McDonagh, an airline history student, reveals that many flight attendant partake in something called ‘crop dusting’ – “the code word for farting in the aisle while walking to check on passengers.” Barf. But also, fascinating.
“It happens every time… I come home from flying my trips 5-7lbs heavier….,” one flight attendant wrote on her blog.
Here’s what else she had to say:
“Why, you ask? Not because I ate up the whole world, but because of water and gas retention. It’s something that affects EVERY flier. For me, as a flight attendant, the effects are right away. When I strap into my jumpseat, which we have to adjust so that the belts are tight…it’s to my fit.
When it’s time to land, I have to let the belts out a bit , because I have expanded (because of the gas in my body, that we all have in our bodies.) Once I’m home for a few days, the gas goes away, and the water does too! Being a flight attendant, I also know that my body is expanding because of my uniform.
We wear the same thing uniform day in and day out. It’s looser when we first start out, then when we get home.. LOL!”
So now you know that when a flight attendant is walking up and down the aisle, it’s not to check on you, it’s to cut the cheese. That’s right, to cut the cheese. Or, if you’re flying United, it’s to inform you to give up your seat or be dragged off the flight after you’re beaten into a bloody pulp.
