It’s tough enough presenting something in front of people, and it’s even tougher holding their attention, so college student Joshua Robinson Levine had quite the idea when he had to present something on the Dakota Access Line: use a porn meme.
Levine, who is a freshman at St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas, is enrolled in a rhetoric and composition course, and recently he had to write a 1,700-word essay and argue for a social issue of his choice. Levine chose the pipeline and the ongoing protests that have been organized against it.
Well, Levine’s professor also wanted students to create a short presentation on their topics, including using visuals. Well, look at the visual that Levine decided to use.

“My assignment was to make memes — I simply did as I was told,” Levine told BuzzFeed News. And hey, he has a point.
Here’s what fellow classmate Bernadette Robyn Villalpando, who tweeted this photo, had to say:
“I don’t really know the presenter all that well. He’s kind of quiet and always gets to class late. I wasn’t expecting something like that from him.” Adding that she “laughed for at least two minutes.”
While some folks didn’t approve, Villalpando herself supported Levine’s use of the meme.
“We have an amazing professor who helps incorporate the latest trends/memes into class so it’s really interesting and not boring,” Villalpando said.
Levine’s professor also supported Levine’s meme, and he even got a good grade on it (but that’s because Levine did the research on his topic)
“His presentation dealt with the challenge of determining what counts as ‘success’ when it comes to social-justice protests, how ‘success’ might be measured,” the professor said. “Needless to say, his opening meme grabbed the class’s attention.”

So it’s pretty clear some folks are more uptight than others. I on the other hand think it was a brilliant move. But then again I do write about boobs, so there’s that.
