Will Facebook Really Lock You Out If You Don’t Upload A Clear Selfie?

Mark Zuckerberg has us by the short and curlies, guys.

According to Metro, you could potentially be locked out of your Facebook account if you don’t upload a “clear” photo of yourself sometime in the near future.

The crew at Facebook is apparently trying to prove that people on their social network aren’t “bots,” and by uploading a clear selfie, it will supposedly help them reach that goal.

“Please upload a photo of yourself that clearly shows your face. We’ll check it and then permanently delete it from our servers,” Facebook said in a message to at least one of its users. That user took a screenshot of the message and uploaded it to Twitter, and Facebook later verified that the message was legit.

A Facebook spokesperson said the photo test is simply a way to “help us catch suspicious activity at various points of interaction on the site, including creating an account, sending Friend requests, setting up ads payments, and creating or editing ads.”

It’s also a great way to piss off my grandma. She fucking hates taking selfies, you guys. Only time will tell if she gives in to Facebook’s demands, but the suspense is already killing me.

Shower selfies with your felon boyfriend? Nice touch. It Doesn’t Get Much Trashier Than These Facebook Posts
