Tourists Visiting Cambodia Facing Prison For Dancing ‘Pornographically’

Note to young world travelers — be careful where you get jiggy wit it. Or it could cost you. Just ask a group of tourists currently trapped in Cambodia.

According to CBC Canada, a group or foreigners were partying at a rented villa near the country’s famous Angkor Wat temple complex on Thursday. They were dancing pretty hardcore, having the time of their lives during a pub crawl … until police raided the home, arresting ten of them for “dancing pornographically.”

Five British nationals, two Canadians, one Norwegian, one New Zealander and one from the Netherlands could face up to one year in prison if convicted.

… While almost 90 foreigners were detained, all but 10 — the alleged organizers of the event — were released.

That’s right. Their crime? Dropping it like it’s hot to some killer beats.

Even though they had their clothes on, and it was allegedly just ‘dancing,’ such activities are considered pornographic in Cambodia. Therefore, for those who shared their pictures on social media, they were distributing pornography.

The police said they were arrested after finding them “singing and dancing pornographically while simulating sex acts.”

Aye aye aye. Facing a year in a foreign prison for partying like a typical frat bro/sorority chick? Definitely never thought I’d see that coming.
