Life Hack of the Week: A Mandatory Video for Making an At-Home Pumpkin Spice Latte

Few things taste better than a pumpkin spice latte. That’s because the careful mixture of the spices and the pumpkin create a vortex to another time. It doesn’t matter where you are, when coffee shops start offering pumpkin spice lattes, it magically becomes autumn. As if by life hack magic, the leaves change colors, temperatures drop, and days grow shorter.

Basically, everything about this magical pumpkin drink is amazing except the price. With inflation, they’re not upwards of $8 depending on your drink preference. Of course, that’s not going to stop a crafty guy like you from getting your fix. Thankfully, this life hack from @dishedit teaches you how to make a pumpkin spice latte at home for less than half the price. Because life hacks can be helpful, but also delicious.

It’s super simple to make if you have the ingredients. Mix cinnamon, ground ginger, nutmeg, ground cloves, and allspice together. Put it in an airtight container to store it.

For your PSL, start by adding the milk, brown sugar or maple syrup, pumpkin puree, vanilla extract, and PPS to a saucepan on medium heat until it’s barely simmering. Once tiny bubbles begin to form, remove that from heat and set that aside. Next, make your espresso. Pour the pumpkin mixture over your espresso in your favorite coffee mug. Top with whipped cream, more PPS, and enjoy!
