So, we’ve shown you bits and pieces of Justice League: Doom. Now, we’ve got a rundown of some of the characters you can expect to see in DC’s latest animated feature film due out on February 28, loosely based on the “Tower of Babel” storyline, in which Batman’s secret plans on how to take down his friends if they went rogue are revealed and used by bad guys. Take a look at what we’ve got here, after you watch this trailer.
Can’t have Justice League without Superman, y’know, and DC’s animation department has brought back Tim Daly, star of Wings and the man who voiced Kal-El in Superman: The Animated Series.
Can’t have the Justice League without Wonder Woman either, natch, and they’ve also brought back Susan Eisenberg to give her a voice, just like she did for Diana during the Justice League animated series.
Of all the Green Lanterns to choose from, they tend to pick Hal Jordan a lot – maybe because John Stewart was the guy they used in the Justice League series, so they want to give the O.G. his due. Alan Scott is the actual O.G., but then we get into the Justice Society and that confuses the issue. Here’s your movie star character, and he’s voiced by Castle and Firefly star Nathan Fillion, who reprises his role from Green Lantern: Emerald Knights.
You can’t have Teen Titans without – wait, what? No, this time, the cybernetically-enhanced Vic Stone has made it to the big leagues, coinciding with his promotion to the A-list in DC’s New 52 series Justice League. Cyborg is a technological marvel, and he’s going to be voiced by Bumper Robinson, a veteran voice actor featured in the Static Shock, Legion of Super-Heroes and Batman: The Brave and the Bold animated series, who also starred as Judge Harry T. Stone’s sort-of-adopted son Leon in Night Court! Remember that kid?
Batman. Of course, Batman. DC animation cut its teeth with Batman: The Animated Series, the forerunner of everything you see out of the Bruce Timm/Paul Dini gang today. That’s also why Kevin Conroy’s voice is forever to be associated with the Dark Knight in almost every form of animation. So it makes perfect sense that he’s joined all the returning favorites to bring the Bat to life. Added bonus, Michael Rosenbaum will be reprising his role as the Flash as well!
You want villains? How about the immortal Vandal Savage, the mastermind behind the formation of the Legion of Doom? He eats people, and he’s filling in the R’as Al Ghul role in the movie.
Who’s in the Legion of Doom, you ask? Try Green Lantern’s violently violet Star Sapphire, Batman’s pain-in-the-back nemesis Bane, Superman’s krypotnite-powered villain Metallo, the Manhunter’s mortal enemy Ma’alefa’ak and Wonder Woman’s feral foe Cheetah.
Maybe you prefer the Royal Flush Gang? These guys are card-themed criminals. That big guy there is Ace. He’s pretty strong.
