There’s a war coming to Charming, California and Billy Brown is going to be one of the men leading the way.
According to Deadline, Brown has joined the cast of “Sons of Anarchy” for its upcoming fifth season. Brown will recur as August Marks, the right-hand man to a dangerous gangster named Damon Pope (Harold Perrineau).
Last season on “Sons of Anarchy,” Tig (Kim Coates) tried to run down Laroy Wayne (Tory Kittles) of the One-Niners in a misguided attempt to avenge Clay Morrow (Ron Perlman). Instead, Tig killed Pope’s daughter; which will lead Pope and his men to seek vengeance against SAMCRO.
This will be Brown’s third time on FX, following his stint on the critically acclaimed series “Lights Out” and an earlier run on “Dirt.” Brown has also previously appeared in “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” “Sleeper Cell” and Star Trek. Additionally, Brown had major roles on “E-Ring” and “CSI: New York” along with his more recent turn as Detective Mike Anderson (pictured above) during the sixth season of “Dexter.”
The other major addition to the “Sons of Anarchy” cast is the previously announced Jimmy Smits, who will play Neron “Nero” Padilla, a Latino gangbanger who is also a dangerous mentor for Jax Teller ( Charlie Hunnam).
“Sons of Anarchy” returns this fall on FX.
