Back in season 3 of “True Blood,” it was mentioned that Alcide Herveaux (Joe Manganiello) was assisting Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) as way to repay the debt that Alcide’s father owed Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard). And later this season, Alcide’s father will finally appear on screen.
True-Blood.net broke the story that genre icon Robert Patrick has been cast as Jackson Herveaux and he will make his first appearance on “True Blood” during the ninth episode of the fifth season. Jackson will reportedly first be seen during a flashback sequence that takes place when Alcide and Debbie Pelt (Brit Morgan) were teenagers during the ’80s.
Jackson is described as having been “powerful, inspiring and heroic” in the past; while in the present he is said to have “pretty much given up on life.” However, Patrick is signed on to recur and if the TV series keeps to the original novels than Jackson could be around beyond the current season.
Patrick is best known for his unforgettable performance as the T-1000 in Terminator 2 in addition to several memorable films like Cop Land, Walk the Line, Flags of Our Fathers and The Faculty. Patrick has also co-starred in several TV series, most notably in “The Unit” and the final seasons of “The X-Files.”
Barring any preemption by HBO, Patrick’s first episode of “True Blood” should run on Sunday, August 05.
