This fall, Starz and Anchor Bay are bringing “Spartacus: Vengeance – The Complete Second Season” to DVD and Blu-ray; which features Liam McIntyre’s entire first year in the title role.
“Spartacus: Vengeance” follows the continuing tale of Spartacus and his fellow escaped gladiators as they free slaves and mount a rebellion against the forces of Rome itself. It’s a long bloody struggle and not everyone makes it out alive, including a few fan favorite characters.
To celebrate this upcoming release, Anchor Bay has sent us an exclusive clip from the DVD/Blu-ray that focuses on the show’s ability to inventively kill off its characters. Props Master Rob Bavin and Prosthetics designer Jane O’Kane are on hand to explain the challenges they face before the video revisits one of the more gruesome deaths from season 2. So, if you haven’t seen “Spartacus: Vengeance” yet, consider this your SPOILER WARNING!
In addition to the behind-the-scenes featurettes, both the DVD and Blu-ray releases will contain bloopers, a set visit with McIntyre, an examination of the legend of Spartacus and “Famous Last Words.” However, only the Blu-ray release of “Spartacus: Vengeance” will contain nine extended episodes with audio commentaries.
“Spartacus: Vengeance – The Complete Second Season” will hit Blu-ray and DVD on September 11.
