Canadian Actor Will Arnett Scores New Role

Funnyman and Toronto-born actor Will Arnett has landed a starring role on a new CBS series.

The “Arrested Development” alum will play a character on a debut pilot, that has yet to be named, about a recently-divorced single guy and his quirky parents, who are also experiencing martial problems of their own (according to a Global News article).

In addition to his long-standing roles on “Arrested Development” (which is currently being replayed on Netflix) as well as “30 Rock, along with several big-screen projects, Arnett has also done writing, producing, and voiceover work. He has been nominated for five Emmy Awards and two Screen Actors Guild Awards.

The actor, who recently separated from his actress/comedienne wife Amy Poehler after nine years of marriage, has two children. He is also one of the lead roles in the NBC comedy “Up All Night” opposite Christina Applegate. The network has not yet said whether the show will be renewed for the fall.
