Move over, “Elementary!” The original modern day Sherlock Holmes TV series is coming to San Diego.
According to Entertainment Weekly, “Sherlock” will get its first ever panel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con International, with co-creators, Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss on hand to talk about the upcoming third season of the acclaimed modern revival of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson in the present.
Joining Moffat and Gatiss will be producer Sue Vertue and moderator James Hibberd from Entertainment Weekly, as well as some “surprises.” However, Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman are not likely to be there due to their heavy film schedules. Freeman is still shooting scenes for The Hobbit trilogy, which is also skipping this year’s con. And Cumberbatch also has a slew of movies that he is set to star in.
The date of the “Sherlock” panel will be announced tomorrow, but its likely to be on the first day of the convention. “Sherlock” Season 3 will premiere in the U.S. on PBS in 2014, but BBC One fans are likely to see it a lot sooner than that.
