The Summer Festival In Quebec City Is Underway

The Black Keys, Bruno Mars, Bad Religion, and Stevie Wonder are all participating in one of Quebec City’s biggest events: The Summer Festival (Festival d’été de Québec).

In its 46th year, other musicians like Weezer, Guns N’ Roses, and Rush will also be taking to the stage during the 10-day fest. “That’s the main difference between this festival and all the other festivals you have in the States or elsewhere in Canada,” said Communications Director Luci Tremblay in an article with Global News. “We are not a niche festival, we are not Festival de Jazz, or indie rock or classical, we’re everything. That’s what definines this festival, the great diversity we offer.”

Paul McCartney will play after The Summer Festival wraps up.

In addition to great music, the Prix Miroir will also be handed out. Since 1989, the Festival d’été de Québec has awarded the Prix Miroir to local talented artists as well as those from abroad. Each year, the Festival asks a jury made up of music industry professionals to select outstanding artists or groups. The recipient of the Prix Miroir for the Most Popular Show is chosen by the public and the Prix Miroir Tribute is awarded by the Festival d’été de Québec.

The Summer Festival runs from July 4th until 14th.
