In A&E’s Psycho prequel/reboot, “Bates Motel,” life has been less than ideal for Norma Bates (Vera Farmiga) as she contends with the dark impulses of her son, Norman (Freddie Highmore), her troubled relationship with her first son, Dylan (Max Thieriot) and the insanity of her new town, White Pine Bay.
Of course Norma isn’t exactly the picture of mental stability herself. But according to TVLine, three new characters will be introduced in “Bates Motel” Season 2 who may make Norma’s life better… or worse.
First up is Caleb, Norma’s older brother who attempts to get his sister to invest in his shady business. The second new character is Christine, a socialite in White Pine Bay who becomes Norma’s first real friend in the town. And finally there’s George, a recently divorced man who becomes Norma’s newest love interest. No further details about George were revealed, but after Norma’s last boyfriend blackmailed her, ran a sex-slave ring and tried to kill Norma, anyone is a step up after that.
“Bates Motel” will return for a second season of ten episodes in 2014.
