Did Warner Bros. Offer Christian Bale $60M to Play Batman Again?

So exactly how much would it take to lure Christian Bale back into the Bat-suit for another film?  If you believe the Sun Newspaper, Warner Bros. thinks that figure is about $60 million.

According to the Sun report, relayed by Crave’s movie site /Film, that’s the paycheck they’re rumored to have offered Bale to come out of Bat-retirement for 2015’s Batman vs. Superman.

Now, this is conjecture at best (let’s not forget that the Sun is a tabloid in the best British muckracking tradition), but if true, it could definitively solve Warner’s problem about how Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight films fit in their overall DC universe building plans.

And considering $60 million upfront is more money than Bale’s ever seen in his life (even Robert Downey Jr.’s $100 million payout for The Avengers came heavily from back-end box office performance), that might be enough to make him forget that Nolan guy and say, “OK, just once more…”
