Production Starts On HISTORY’s Hardcore Heroes

Proper Television announced yesterday that production has begun on six one-hour episodes of the new series “Hardcore Heroes,” which will air on HISTORY in Canada and the Military Channel in the U.S.

Each episode features two adrenaline-packed true stories of courage. From iconic war heroes and technological mavericks, to fearless first responders and selfless civilians, every story will focus on the coolest tactics, the biggest challenges, and the riskiest manoeuvres that saved lives or altered the future of this world. “Hardcore Heroes” will bring these astonishing stories to life using major storytelling techniques – up-close and gritty live action recons; CGI maps, period stills, and stock footage; as well as first-person interviews with the heroes themselves, survivors, team members, fans, and family. A roster of experts will also weigh in, providing viewers with context and astonishing details on how the heroes were able to achieve their goals against formidable odds. All of these elements will be tied together with engaging, informative narration.

“This world is full of hardcore guys that would make Rambo, John McClane and Indiana Jones pale in comparison,” said Guy O’Sullivan, President of Proper Television, in a press release. “We have found twelve of the most kick-ass heroes on the planet, who have performed unbelievable acts, and Proper is thrilled to be sharing their stories with audiences across the world.”

Produced by Proper Television, Guy O’Sullivan (“Canada’s Worst Driver”) and Jennifer Scott (“Don’t Drive Here”) serve as Executive Producers and Jeffrey Hirschfield (“I Didn’t Do It”) as Series Producer.
