‘Futurama’ Final Episode Preview Scene

Back in 2003, Fox canceled “Futurama.” Five years later, “Futurama” returned as four Direct-to-DVD movies before Comedy Central picked up the series for two additional seasons.

But this Wednesday, “Futurama” will end again… for now. “Futurama” executive producer Ken Keeler has written the series finale, “Meanwhile;” which finds Fry and Leela finally heading down the aisle to get married.

Whether Fry and Leela actually tie the knot remains to be seen. Because Professor Farnsworth has created a device that can take its users ten seconds.backwards in time. And in this preview clip from Comedy Central, Fry has accidentally broken the device and trapped himself and Leela in a never-ending moment.

For the final episode of “Futurama,” Comedy Central is bringing in “Talking Dead” host Chris Hardwick for an online pre-show with “Futurama” creator Matt Groening, executive producer David X. Cohen as well as voice actors. Billy West, Maurice LaMarche, Phil LaMarr, and Lauren Tom. Following the first broadcast of the finale, Hardwick will also host a “Futurama” aftershow on ComedyCentral.com with co-executive producer Patric M. Verrone and supervising director Peter Avanzino joining the panel in addition to fan reactions to finale and questions from the audience.

If you live in Los Angeles, there’s also a Futurama themed event happening on Saturday, September 7 at Meltdown Comics’ Nerdmelt Showroom at 4pm, as Stonecutters LA turn their monthly Simpsons screenings and trivia over to Futurama with special guests David X Cohen and Maurice LaMarche. All Stonecutters LA shows are free, so show up early!
