Will Smith may actually take on the aliens again for another Independence Day.
Crave’s Collider site is following up on a rumor that Smith and director Roland Emmerich are in negotiations for Independence Day 2, which is allegedly coming in 2016. Smith had reportedly wanted $50 million two years ago to reprise his role as Capt. Steven Hiller (and let’s hope he at least got bumped up to major for saving the world from extinction).
We’ll have to see if time has bought Emmerich and Fox a discount.
