You may not realize this, but Section 20 suffered a major setback in last week’s episode of “Strike Back.”
Sure, Section 20 rescued their leader, Lt. Colonel Philip Locke (Robson Green) and Mairead McKenna (Catherine Walker) was killed… but the heist of the NATO intel was successful. Whatever the terrorists were looking for, they found it.
Now the stolen intel is in Russia; which is a particularly dangerous place for Damien Scott (Sullivan Stapleton) and Michael Stonebridge (Philip Winchester). The duo have been marked for death by Arkady Ulyanov (Marcel Iures) for killing his son in the season premiere. Scott and Stonebridge only discovered this threat when a Russian assassin nearly killed them.
This week’s exclusive preview scene finds Scott and Stonebridge in Russia as a fleet of police cars chase them. And in Russia, the cops are apparently more willing to shoot at suspects than we’ve come to expect.
In the second preview scene, Stonebridge’s health is noticeably deteriorating as he and Scott are imprisoned in a Russian jail. But they don’t waste any time telling their new cellmate what they expect from him.
Cinemax’s synopsis for the episode offers a few hints of the trouble ahead for Stonebridge and Kamali (Zubin Varla).
“The team tracks stolen property to Russia, where Scott and Stonebridge continue their side careers as “outlaws.” As Stonebridge’s health continues to deteriorate, they discover new mysteries about a piece of Al-Zuhari’s plan. Kamali worries that his cover identity may not hold.”
