Ubisoft Montreal Is Expanding

Ubisoft Montreal, creator of video games like “Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell” and “Assassin’s Creed,” have announced they are creating 500 jobs in the next seven years and investing more than $370 million.

By 2020, Ubisoft should provide employment for more than 3,500 professionals within its Quebec studios.

“The imminent arrival of the next generation of consoles, the expansion of mobile platforms, the multiplication of connected, immersive, and social environments, and the strategic importance of the relationship between developers and players are profoundly transforming the video game industry”, Ubisoft co-founder and CEO Yves Guillemot said in an official press release. “Today’s announcement allows us to anticipate the growth of our future needs with the main objective of strengthening proximity with our players and creating value for them.”

The 500 new jobs includes the development, production, and operations of a new generation of video games with positions like community and network management specialists, business intelligence analysts, mathematicians, telemetry experts, systems operators, and monetization and interactive marketing specialists up for grabs. The Quebec government is contributing a non-refundable $9.9 million.
