Wanna see a good martial arts movie? They’re hard to come by these days, so it came as a surprise (to us) that one of the best in recent years would be an American production, directed by Keanu Reeves of all people. Reeves’ debut behind the camera, Man of Tai Chi, stars former Matrix stuntman Tiger Chen as a Tai Chi master roped into an underground fighting ring by Donaka Mark (Reeves), a mysterious millionaire with a plan to weaponize a martial art typically seen as purely defensive in nature. As Man of Tai Chi shows, it can be a powerful attacking force as well… but embracing that element of his martial art sends Tiger Chen down a very dangerous path.
